With a surface area of less than 800 hectares, POMEROL is a prestigious appellation located on the right bank of Bordeaux. It produces pure wines combining finesse and intensity.
The clay soils of this appellation allow the Merlot to express itself like nowhere else. It represents 80% of the vineyard and is often blended with Cabernet Franc (10%), Cabernet Sauvignon (8%) and Malbec (2%).
The vineyard of Pomerol was established in the 12th century, during the Middle Ages, but received its letters of nobility from the 18th century onwards and then reached its peak during the 19th century.
