Our History

Château Cantelauze was acquired by the Boidron family in 1987. Its 5 parcels of vines located on the best terroirs of the Pomerol plateau form a vineyard of one hectare and a production of about 5000 bottles per year.

The name CANTELAUZE is Occitan and means “Chante Alouette”, the song of the vineyard lark is a very particular and easily recognizable song, the lands of Cantelauze have a high population of this melodious bird during winter.

The wines are vinified in the cellar and then matured for 18 months in high quality French oak barrels, after which they undergo bottle ageing in an underground limestone cellar with optimal temperature and humidity conditions.

The plots are composed of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The production is controlled in order to extract the best of the terroir while limiting the yields, hand picking, careful vinification and specific maceration, all of which give an elegant character to this refined wine. Our commitment to the environment and our respect for biodiversity guarantee sustainable development on a living soil.
